It is a bad laptop. I bought it and it is really bad. noising and annoying system fan and Slow, especially with Alvesta operating system so I installed XP.
Fast heat
Heavy
The Acer does not support the graphics card which is manufactured by Intel Corp(there is no driver in acer website).
So, please do not buy this model.

I also had problems with a flickering screen, which steadily worsened until it was repaired under warranty. Acer’s service was reasonably quick and provided on line updates on progress and a courier service. The lap top itself lives up to the other reviews, although emergency use of my son’s Apple Mac made me wonder if the Macbook is the way to go longterm.

I have heard that they liked it and it does what it says on the tin but there are lots of laptops and they change all the time so just look at the time you need one and keep you options open

I purchased my Acer 5920 in March 2008,initialy i was very pleased with my purchase.Unfortunately in Nov 2008 my dvd
drive just dissapeared from my notebook.Amazon offered to replace it (I was in Greece at the time) so they suggested I contact Acer I did and they said they were aware that this problem was caused by windows updates, sent instuctions to rectify the problem (which i had to get a technician to do)and bingo my dvd drive returned and was working as normal. Then it happened again 2 months later, Acer once again said it was the same problem and i must turn off windows automatic updates or the problem would occur again and again.Once again my technician fixed it making sure auto updates were turned off and all was ok.Acer also assured me once i had done this it wouldn’t happen again. But it did the same thing (error code 10 dvd drive will not start) no dvd drive yet again. By ths time a year had passed and too late for amazon to replace my notebook.Once again i took it to my technician this time he said it was a different problem allthough still error code 10 he could not fix it.Again I got in touch with Acer who suggested i do a full system recvery yuk!!!To date i have not done this Acer dont seem to think its a problem with their product, but i have heard that other owners of the 5920 Have experienced the same problem.Has anyone else? Iam thinking of buying a new laptop but it wont be Acer.
