I had the same trouble as others who have written that it doesn’t work with the battery alone. I realised it was because I hadn’t inserted the battery the right way round. This happens because the battery carrier isn’t keyed, as you would normally expect. Make sure the battery’s contacts align with the camera’s. Worth a try before you send it back. Otherwise can’t comment on the camera’s performance since it is a Xmas pressy. Superficially seems good though.

As someone that works with graphics I am finding this camera very useful. The pictures are crisp and the operating is easy. Exactly what is needed from a camera, and one that I would have expected to pay a lot more for. I am delighted with it.

I bought this one week ago and had the same problem with the battery indicator & charger.
The battery light doesn’t work and when unplugged the camera doesn’t work also. It seems like battery charger or battery has a problem…
I returned it back. Hmm…

I just got mine yesterday and am sending it back as the battery indicator light doesn’t work.
