Story of the good guy gone bad to overturn a corrupt justice system, which is more interested in keeping a perfect win score and making deals with criminals than actually putting them behind bars. What is an open and shut case of murder, turns into a long nail biting thriller, with you actually supporting the “bad” guy. Excellent film with excellent pace and action.

Gerard Butler stars as Clyde Shelton in this slightly different take on the revenge movie genre. Combining elements of Death Wish, Taken and various prison movies the plot moves violently and swiftly. To say more would give too much away. There’s more plot holes than a Swiss cheese, particularly in the last 20 minutes and Gerard Butler’s accent is firmly lodged somewhere between the Isle of Man and Cape Cod but that doesn’t detract from the rollercoaster ride and what-happens-next experience.

NB: This review is based on the Canadian import, would suggest this version avoided as it is Region A only and has no extras. Either wait for this (UK) version or make sure you buy the US copy.

I went to see this at the cinema not knowing to much about it, and I am glad that I did!

The main story is that a husband/father had to see his daughter and wife murdered! Instead of the justice system doing what it is meant to do it lets the killer off with a lesser offence.

Enter the man who wants to right the wrongs and a lawyer that wants to stop him.

I really enjoyed this film, it wasn;t one of the better preformanaces by the actors involved but the storyline made up for that. It mainly is a whodunit while the bad man is lock up, you with be thrilled to the end.

It is a film I would watch again and again!!!

This film is certainly full of action!!! I was so into the film, but then the ending got a bit silly and I lost respect for the film.

I was right there with Gerard getting his revenge…but then he went a bit too far to make his point.

I really like Gerard Butler. He is a powerful actor. The Greek God can do no wrong. Gerard is so sexy with that voice and hot body…and yes ladies you will see the Beautiful Butler Body again in this film!!!! Thanks for that !!!

Most shocking part of the film…when the judge answers her phone….I dont know what network she was with but I am staying well away from her mobile provider !!!!!!!!!!!!

Sexy Jamie Foxx is a great Actor. Love him. His teeth are so white in this film, I suggest a pair of good sunglasses!!!

This is a good film, but something was not quite right at the end. I would have preferred Gerard to have continued getting revenge on baddies using his gadgets in the same way he got the judge.

There could have been a good sequel to this film !!!

The Foxx and the Hound but no disney cuteness here !!!

I needed to unwind after a few serious hours hitting the Syriac Grammar. And I had this packet of Bhujja Sev which is like popcorn but I don’t trust the local popcorn and some mango syrup (suitable for non-vegetarians) with boiled water and I was all set. Only suggestion I should make is not to start eating any popcorn or popcorn substitutes until five minutes into the film when all can be enjoyed. Not for chicks, but very enjoyable. Not that I stopped eating the Bhujja Sev I was hungry what can I tell you. But if I had known to wait till after the first five minutes nah I still would have given it only 4 stars. It’s a solid action thriller but if you want to poke holes in the story line and stuff you probably could but I just wanted something to unwind to while I munched on my Bhujja Sev and drank my juice. Apparently the Scots actor was stopped racing to the airport in Edinburgh but the cops recognized him and when they asked him what the name of his next film was and he said Law Abiding Citizen they laughed and let him off and told him to drive more carefully. Little did they know.
