Sound quality is very poor, and the speakers emit a high pitched buzzing sound whenever playing. I get crackling if I move the speaker more than 1 meter from my computer, although it is supposed to have a 10 meter range. Looks nice and neat, but not useful for much of anything.

I’m currently using this with my PC using the audio cable (supplied). The sound’s not bad and it looks lovely. Took me a while and a bit of fiddling around to get it to work with my Nokia phone, but if I so much as touched it it would lose connection. Aggravating.

You want to use your laptop in different rooms around the house but the built in speakers are naff. So you need external speakers, but you don’t want to be trailing cables around after you, right? Bluetooth – genius – that’s the answer! It may well be, but not with the B-Tube. Yes, fresh out of the box it is a thing of beauty, shiny brushed aluminium, cool red and blue LEDs. But the experience is downhill from there. The pairing is fairly easy to set up, using the device is not too complicated (but hardly intuitive – you’ll need the manual just to turn it on!) The major let down is the only thing you actually really need from a speaker – SOUND! Tinny in the extreme and crackly beyond about 8 feet. My wife refuses to be in the room when its playing – it really is that bad!

Slim, stylish, easy to set up, surprisingly loud, good clarity and lightweight. Really good to take on holiday or simply to be played anywhere where you can’t set up a wired stereo. I bought one as a gift for a friend and loved it so much that i bought another for myself. The handsfree option to answer a call on a mobile is the only thing that lets it down. It comes across as fuzzy and you have to go so close to the B tube to be picked up by the mic that you might as well pick up the phone. Other than that, a great buy.

Bluetooth works ok, syncs up easily with iphone 3G and HTC Magic. Sound quality is ok for small battery speakers but distorts at higher volumes. On/Off switch is a bit irritating as it is a large button on one end, meaning you switch it on when putting it into the carrying case. Not bad value though and worked pretty good.
