Arguably the finest movie of its kind, Terminator 2: Judgment Day captured Arnold Schwarzenegger at the very apex of his Hollywood celebrity and James Cameron at the peak of his perfectionist directorial powers. Nothing the star did subsequently measured up to his iconic performance here, spouting legendary catchph… More >>

It says so much about the snobbery of many critics that Terminator 2, which revolutionised cinema and was so brilliantly made in so many ways, is often overlooked in favour of the more typical Oscar fare.
As much as I despise CGI as a rule, in Terminator 2, it was superbly done and a necessary part of the film, rather than the reason to make it. Despite the endless CGI films we have had to endure which are technically superior, I still gaze in wonder at the T-1000, the most graceful and sleek of assassins.
Arnold Schwarzenegger turns in unquestionably the best performance of his career (classic Arny with more depth to him) as does Edward Furlong (best child performance since ET?) and Linda Hamilton. James Cameron’s directing is inspirational, with the action scenes leaving you on the edge of your seat.
The whole concept of the film is excellent and you will be able to return to this one time and time again with ease. Just a word for people expecting a deluxe edition, the extras (although I am not usually a fan of them) are quite poor. The deleted scenes are great, but the ‘cast and crew biographies’ are pretty lame. But it’s the film that will have you coming back for more. One of the best action films of all time, one that changed cinema history and one of the best films of its day, every household should have a copy.

If your Blu-ray Player is not connected to the internet, you have to wait 10 mins for the disc to start. If you press any button on your remote, the time starts again. I am a BIG fan of this movie, but please dont buy this version.

What’s not to like? Everything about this film is top drawer. Word of warning – I would keep away from the ‘director’s cut’, there’s a reason why this original version is shorter, the director’s cut has a load of unnecessary and annoying scenes added! (Just a money spinning ploy that’s best avoided)

Just to say that I’ve got a S300 too and the film itself plays fine on my player (I’ve updated the firmware to 4.90). I’ve read elsewhere that other people have trouble getting the Extended Special Edition to play, even after entering the code from the box. Like others, I found it froze up at 23 seconds into the ESE, but if I pressed “Pop-Up Menu” on my remote, the menu appeared and film started playing (and I could close out the menu once the film started). Just a hint.
I’ve not seen the first BD release of T2, but this seems pretty good to me. I’m no audio expert, but the ESE seemed to have a much louder sound mix than the Theatrical.
However, Terminator Salvation won’t load… but that’s a different problem.
