Right, waste of 1.5 hours of life so 1 star. What a mess the installation process is. First, my vista (SP2) did NOT recognise the device, it asked for the CD to be loaded. It then stated the the drivers has been loaded successfully but no icon appeared in the tray. Don’t know if that was the fault of vista or trust. Tried to install again using the CD but the install program now said it couldn’t find the device. Ok, I didn’t follow the written instructions but with a bit more effort from Trust I wouldn’t have needed to. Took me 1.5 hours to figure out to uninstall the driver in Control Panel, System and Maintenance, Device Manager, Bluetooth uninstall. THEN i followed the instructions for installation and was able to use the device. Trust know about this as a search of their website will reveal. Pity they don’t give the above advice on their site.
The device itself is beautifully engineered and the software does the job. Doesn’t seem particularly fast (compared to a fast usb stick), perhaps Bluetooth 3.0 will be faster.

If you are like me and have a laptop isn’t endowed with Bluetooth and you’ve seen the size other adaptors on the market you will appreciate this device. It is an Ultra Small Bluetooth 2 USB adapter that protrudes by just 5mm once it’s in your laptop, which means you’ll never need to take it out. So no more forgetting to remove it and breaking a USB port, and no more losing it outright. For this amount of usefulness, I think it is well worth its price, particularly since it has both hands-free and audio profiles and it works just fine.

I have been using this bluetooth adaptor with my laptop for two weeks and I have not had any issues with the device. The file transer speed is much quicker than it was on my previous device and it operates well even when the connected device is over 10 meters away. The size of the adaptor is very handy for using it in a netbook or laptop and will not stick out too much from the computer it is plugged into, ideal if you use a neoprene case to carry your computer.
I have tested the bluetooth adaptor on various linux distributions (ubuntu/debian, fedora, opensuse and mandriva) and they all detected the device and needed no additional drivers to run, XP requires the drivers provided by Trust.

The device turned up today and it’s tiny, I was impressed until I stuck it in the USB port of my laptop and it protruded further than I expected.
The device works fine, installed easy (Vista, I didn’t even touch the included CD)
Connected to my phone and shortly a BT mouse.
4 stars because it was cheep and ideal but on reflection the round edged versions may have been better because they won’t get knocked about as much.
Anyways good product – does what it says on the tin.
